Teak Indoor Dining Tables

Custom Reclaimed Teak Dining Table

Permata Furni manufactures teak indoor dining tables from our factory in Semarang, Central Java, and exports them wholesale to buyers across Europe, Australia, the Middle East, and North America. Our indoor dining range is available in solid teak and reclaimed teak, across standard and custom dimensions, finished for interior commercial environments including restaurants, hotel dining rooms, villa interiors, and retail furniture brands.

What Makes a Teak Indoor Dining Table Different

Teak is as well-suited to indoor use as outdoor — its natural oil content and high density provide the same structural performance regardless of environment. For indoor applications, the key differences are in finishing and specification rather than material:

  • Finish: Indoor dining tables are typically finished with matt lacquer, hardwax oil, or food-safe oil rather than the weathering finishes used on outdoor pieces. This provides a wipeable, cleanable surface suitable for food service environments.
  • Moisture content: Indoor pieces are kiln-dried to 8–10% MC to minimise any movement in climate-controlled interiors. Our outdoor teak is dried to 10–12% MC for higher-humidity exposure.
  • Profile options: Indoor dining tables commonly require a finer profile — thinner aprons, lighter leg sections — than outdoor tables designed for weather exposure. We accommodate both standard and custom profiles from our Semarang workshop.
  • Custom sizing: Contract interior projects — particularly restaurants and hotel dining rooms — often require non-standard table sizes to fit floor plans precisely. We accept custom length, width, and thickness specifications from MOQ 10 units per SKU.

Finish Specifications for Indoor Dining

We apply all finishing in-house at our Semarang facility before packing. Available finishes for indoor dining tables include:

  • Matt lacquer (2-pack PU): Wipeable, suitable for food service. Available in natural, light stain, dark walnut, grey wash, and custom RAL-matched colours. Most common finish for restaurant and hotel dining.
  • Hardwax oil (Osmo-type): Penetrating oil finish that enhances grain character. Easy to spot-repair. Preferred for boutique hotel and villa contexts.
  • Natural teak oil: Traditional finish that maintains the teak natural honey-gold tone. Requires periodic reapplication. Best for residential-grade contract and retail.
  • Unfinished (sanded only): Available on request for buyers who apply their own finishing on-site.

Finish samples are available at cost for buyer approval before production commitment. We match existing furniture samples where possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you produce teak indoor dining tables to a specific length for a restaurant floor plan?

Yes. Custom dimensions are available from MOQ 10 units per SKU. We regularly produce non-standard sizes — including odd lengths and widths — for restaurant and hotel projects where tables need to fit a specific floor plan. Provide us with your required dimensions and we will quote accordingly.

Is reclaimed teak available in matched sets for a hotel dining room fit-out?

Yes. For contract projects requiring matched sets, we select timber from a single lot to ensure consistent grain density, colour range, and character. We cannot guarantee that reclaimed teak will be 100% uniform — that is the nature of the material — but we can minimise variation within an agreed tolerance for large-scale hotel fit-outs.

What finish is recommended for a restaurant environment?

For food service environments, we recommend 2-pack PU matt lacquer. This provides a hard, wipeable surface that is resistant to spills and cleaning products. Hardwax oil is an alternative for settings where natural appearance takes priority and occasional reapplication is acceptable. We advise against teak oil alone for high-use commercial dining tables.

Do you supply table bases separately from tabletops?

Yes, we supply table tops and bases separately or as matched sets. Standard base options include 4-leg, A-frame, X-frame, pedestal (single and double), and hairpin leg. Custom base profiles are available from MOQ 10 units.

How are teak indoor dining tables packed for container shipping?

Each table is individually wrapped in bubble film, placed in a corrugated carton, and loaded on pallets for container shipment. Flat-pack assembly is available where design allows, significantly increasing container efficiency. We provide a detailed packing list and container loading plan with each shipment.
