A beach club is the hardest test an outdoor furniture spec will face. Sand gets into every joint, salt air attacks every fastener, guests arrive wet and oiled with sunscreen, and staff drag loungers across the deck twice a day. This guide sets out how to specify furniture for that environment, and what to ask a beach club furniture supplier before you place an order.
We’re RecycleTeak, a reclaimed teak manufacturer in Semarang, and we supplied the loungers, sofas, daybeds and private cabanas at Fira Beach Club in Phuket in 2024. What follows comes from that kind of project. For the broader resort picture, see our resort outdoor furniture supplier page.
Beach club furniture needs frames heavy enough to stay put in wind, open slatted surfaces that shed sand and water, 316 stainless hardware, and a finish that can be repaired on site. Reclaimed teak meets all four. Add lighter pieces only where staff rearrange furniture constantly.
| Stress | What it does | What to specify |
|---|---|---|
| Sand | Abrades finishes and packs into joints | Open slatted seats and decks, smooth sanded edges, solid joinery that doesn’t rely on glue alone |
| Salt air | Corrodes cheap fasteners within a season | 316 marine-grade stainless hardware throughout |
| Sun and heat | Fades fabric and heats metal frames | Teak slats, which stay comfortable to touch, plus fabric rated for UV |
| Wind | Moves light furniture and umbrellas | Solid frames with enough weight to stay put |
| Sunscreen and spills | Stains and builds up on surfaces | An oiled teak finish that can be cleaned and re-oiled |
| Daily rearranging | Wears corners and joints | Reinforced joints, plus stackable loungers where storage space is tight |
Most beach clubs order across several zones at once. A typical split looks like this:
| Zone | Pieces | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Pool and sand edge | Sun loungers, side tables | Our Como lounger is 210 x 76 x 23 cm in 100% reclaimed teak |
| Premium seating | Daybeds, private cabanas | The highest-revenue spots, so finish and comfort matter most |
| Lounge area | Deep-seat sofas, armchairs, coffee tables | Pair with UV-rated cushion fabric |
| Bar and restaurant | Bar stools, high tables, dining sets | Stackable chairs where storage is limited |

Teak finish. The standard finish is teak oil, and the wood weathers to silver-grey in sun and salt. That’s part of the look at a lot of beach clubs. If your brand wants to hold the honey tone, plan on a yearly coat of oil, covered in our teak care guide.
Lounger slings. We source slings in Batyline or Textilene in standard or custom colors.
Cushions. Cushions aren’t part of our standard production. We recommend sourcing cushion fabric locally, because shipping filled cushions wastes container space. Specify solution-dyed acrylic, which resists fading and mildew, and quick-dry foam so a rainy afternoon doesn’t take a zone out of service.
Branding. Laser engraving and branded hardware are available if you want your logo on the furniture.

Transit from Semarang is short for most Asian beach destinations. Typical times are 7–14 days to Southeast Asia (Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines), 14–21 days to the Maldives and South Asia, and 10–18 days to Australia. Our resort furniture supplier Asia page has the full table. Work backwards from your opening date: sample, then production, then transit, with a few weeks of margin for customs.

Teak costs more up front than aluminum or poly. It earns that back in the guest-facing spots, where the material is part of the experience, and in a repair path that doesn’t send furniture off the property. For staff areas and overflow seating, lighter metal furniture is often the sensible choice. We set out the full comparison, with a cost-per-year worksheet, in teak vs aluminum outdoor furniture for resorts.
For the audit side of this, read our guide to choosing a teak outdoor furniture manufacturer.
For guest-facing areas, reclaimed teak with 316 stainless hardware is a strong choice. It needs no coating, weathers evenly in salt air, and can be repaired on site. Lighter aluminum suits staff areas and furniture that is rearranged daily.
Teak’s natural oils protect the wood, and an open slatted design sheds sand. The weak points are usually fasteners and joinery, which is why we use 316 marine-grade stainless hardware and solid joints.
Yes. Mixed SKUs can go on one purchase order for project orders, so loungers, daybeds, cabanas, sofas and bar furniture can be produced in one run with matching finish.
Samples take 15 to 30 days. Stock items take 30 to 45 days ex-factory, and custom orders take 45 to 60 days from sample approval. Transit to Southeast Asia is typically 7 to 14 days.
Cushions are not part of our standard production. We recommend sourcing cushion fabric locally to avoid shipping filled cushions, and we can supply lounger slings in Batyline or Textilene in standard or custom colors.
